The amount of money that United Women in Faith spend on missions each year is impressive! In fact, if you were to calculate how much money was spent in 2023, it would have worked out to be $16.96 per minute. That figure is commonly known as a mission minute.
Each year at the Fall Annual Meeting, we light a mission candle. Units from across the Texas Conference, donate money to “buy mission minutes” in honor or in memory of someone.
For example, in 2023 members donated $1,876.96 to the mission candle fund. That worked out to 110.67 mission minutes, so the mission candle at our Annual Meeting at Lakeview burned for 1 hour and 50 minutes.
