Rev. Lataya Simpson
At the age of 15, Rev. Lataya Simpson felt called to ministry but had never seen a woman behind a pulpit. So instead of trying to become a preacher right away, she began doing ministry in schools, joined the media team at her church and even launched a marketplace ministry, Christian Networking Group. 15 years later the call from the Lord came again, only this time it was clear that it was time for her to move toward the pulpit.
After fulfilling the basic requirements to become a licensed local pastor, she was appointed as a student pastor to Wesley Tabernacle United Methodist Church. After graduating from seminary, she moved on to serve as a Chaplain at Houston Methodist Hospital Clear Lake. Thereafter she was appointed as the Associate Pastor of Bellaire UMC. Today she serves as the senior pastor of St. Matthew’s UMC in north Houston. Rev. Lataya has now served as a pastor for 10 years.
Kristen Tropeano
Kristen Tropeano, has been serving in Student Ministry for 10+ years and is currently serving as the Director of Student Ministry at Strawbridge UMC. She is a Deaconess in the United Methodist Church as well as a certified Youth Minister approved by GBHEM and the Texas Annual Conference.
She served on the SMU Summit Board for 5 years, and is now serving as the South West District Youth Coordinator. She has created, developed, and lead 10+ Immersive Learning Experiences, helped lead a delegation of Students and Young Adults to the Global Young Peoples Convocation in Ireland, has traveled to the Holy Land, and lead students in 20+ Mission trips both domestic and internationally. She is particularly passionate about creating safe and healthy spaces for students to engage with their faith, ask questions, serve as leaders, and form meaningful relationships…and getting songs stuck in her friends’ heads.
Paulette Moore-Hall
Paulette Moore-Hall is a devoted leader in United Women in Faith, known for her steadfast commitment to spiritual formation, mission outreach, and empowering women. She has served in Conference, District, and National roles, including the Program Advisory Group and the Legacy Endowment Fund Steering Committee.
Paulette currently serves as Conference Program Coordinator/VP and leads the John Wesley Methodist Church Local Unit. She also serves on the United Women in Faith Texas Legislative Event Planning Team. A dedicated member of John Wesley Methodist Church, her services include prayer ministry, choir, mission outreach and other ministries. Her commitment extends beyond denominational borders through her service as Treasurer on the Spring Interfaith Council.
Professionally, Paulette built a respected career in Pension and Defined Benefits Consulting and Administration, retiring as an Accounts Manager after decades of dedicated work. A graduate of Pace University, she brings both skill and heart to every role she embraces.

Focus Group 1: – Doing the Work: Faith in Action with Practical ways to live out calling, serve communities, and lead with courage
Join us as we discuss how to live out our calling by putting our faith into action and serving the world around us. We will spend time discussing what we are currently doing in our individual communities and sharing ideas and practical steps to take back to our community. I can’t wait to spend this time learning more about your ministries and finding ways for us to support one another!
Focus Group 2: – Empowered to Move: Women Who Dream, Believe, and Do Through the Lord’s Prayer Where Prayer Becomes Purpose in Motion
Participants in this dynamic focus group will explore how the Lord’s Prayer becomes a powerful roadmap for women who are ready to dream boldly, believe deeply, and move faithfully into God led action. Through guided reflection, shared stories, and practical spiritual tools, attendees will discover how each petition of the prayer invites us to align our hopes with God’s heart and transform prayer into purposeful movement.
Participants can expect to gain a renewed understanding of the Lord’s Prayer as a call to action, not just recitation. This session will leave participants inspired, grounded, and ready to step forward in faith where prayer becomes motion, and motion becomes ministry.
